Hi. I’m Tessa. Throughout my life and career, I've been drawn to supporting others through their challenges. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked connecting people in need with therapeutic support. This experience, combined with my own personal life experiences, has deeply influenced my approach to counselling and shaped my understanding of how vital it is to feel truly heard and accepted.
My path to becoming a counsellor has been enriched by working across diverse areas of mental health and wellbeing. I've supported individuals through various forms of addiction and recovery, helping people find their way through dependencies that have impacted their lives and relationships. This work taught me the importance of meeting each person exactly where they are, without judgement.
I've had the privilege of working alongside neurodiverse clients, supporting people struggling with suicidal thoughts, and helping individuals through their darkest moments. My time working for a charity supporting women going through challenging times in their lives, deepened my understanding of trauma and the incredible resilience of the human spirit.
One of my other roles is working as a Young Therapeutic Mentor, supporting young people who are struggling in school. This is a more informal, solution-focused approach, connecting with young people and adapting my approach to their needs.
Through all these experiences, I've learned that no two journeys are the same. Whether you're dealing with trauma, bereavement, loss, or other life challenges, I'm here to really listen and support you in finding your way forward, at your own pace.
